Well…..it’s not every day that you photograph a wedding in a Cathedral.

In fact, it’s not very often than ANYONE photographs a wedding at Worcester Cathedral as apparently they only hold about 4 or 5 each year!

That’s probably because you first have to get written permission from the Archbishop of Canterbury, as you do 🙂

In this case, the Bride used to be in the cathedral choir giving her the appropriate credentials to receive Bishopric approval and it was full steam ahead with planning the rest of the day.

So….when your wedding ceremony is taking place at a building which dates back to the 11th century you need somewhere pretty special for the reception and boy did Philippa & Daniel do well!

As you’ll see if you read on, I got to experience Whitbourne Hall Wedding Photography, which is just amazing.

Philippa’s family have ties to the Worcestershire going back generations and she started her day in her childhood home with quite a houseful.

Parents, siblings, Bridesmaids, Flower Girls, Page Boys, Aunts, Uncles, it was a hive of activity and full of hustle and bustle.

Then of course…. off the Church…..a very big Church!!!

It’s no surprise to say that Worcester Cathedral is impressive, stunning is a good work to describe it. The Cathedral actually stays open to the public during the ceremony, but section used for the service is closed off from visitors.

Hearing Jerusalem sung in a church is always pretty stirring, hearing it sung by a choir adds gravitas, hearing it sung by the Worcester Cathedral choir IN the Cathedral is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever heard.

Simply incredible.

A crowd had gathered during the ceremony to watch from across the barrier rope so by the time the Bride & Groom started the recessional it felt a little bit like a celebrity wedding!

After the ceremony, time to head out of Worcester towards the Worcestershire/Herefordshire border and the glorious Whitbourne Hall.

It’s built in the Palladian style and I thought I was walking into a Jane Austen novel. With an Italian Parterre Garden and Adam style decor the house it’s stunning, the perfect place for a country wedding reception.

With the groom working in hospitality the food and drink was really important to him. The guests definitely weren’t disappointed. Tasty canapes on the lawn and then inside for beef wellington and later on an amazing dessert buffet.

Somehow during the planning the process the Bride also managed to find time for a photoshoot with Country Life magazine!

Whitbourne Hall wedding photography is just the best!

“Dear Nick, We just wanted to say thank you so much for photographing our wedding.

On the big day itself you have managed to bring all of the minute details to life whilst capturing some of the most powerful human emotions in the most wonderful way

Thank you so much ”
