Some things are so good they’re worth doing twice right?

That’s what happened with Victoria & Liam.

I was able to do Worcestershire Wedding Photography for them not once, but twice.

The second time being a wedding blessing at Gorcott Hall (hence this blog!)

Hmm, you might be thinking. Prey tell us Nick, how on earth did that happen??

Well, do you remember when the world went mad for a while, when nothing seemed normal. You know, COVID!

It was a strange time wasn’t it, that affected all sorts of industries with weddings being one of the most affected.

Victoria and Liam planned to get married right in the middle of all that chaos and you know what, they did!!

They were able to have a guest-restricted, socially distanced wedding, because they REALLY wanted to tie the knot. I was able to be there to photograph their legal ceremony, at Worcester County Hall, albeit not able to actually be in the room!

Then, a little while later, they did it all over again at Gorcott Hall!

A Gorcott Hall Wedding

So, wedding No. 2 was towards the end of covid restrictions, things were almost back to normal and they chose the fabulous Gorcott Hall for their ‘proper’ wedding.

I’m lucky that I’ve been able to do Gorcott Hall Wedding Photography quite a few times now. In fact another wedding that I shot there is featured on their website!

My experience at the venue means it’s somewhere I know pretty well and I think the history of the hall is fascinating.

At the heart of the property is a 16th Century, Tudor Hall which is Grade II listed, and you can understand why! It’s got some beautiful half-timbered exterior walls paired with red brick, and it looks just beautiful.

A previous visitor to the Hall was Elizabeth I in the early 1560s, so it has an illustrious past!

Gorcott Hall wedding day. Garden games laid out on the lawn with the Tudor Hall behind it.

Perfect for Garden Games

Here we see the hall from a different angle and you can the terrace, which has a REALLY cool concealed outside bar! On the lawn below the terrace are loads of garden games, which Victoria & Liam hired from Fetestall.

They do the best selection of garden games that I’ve ever come across so well worth checking out. If you’re thinking of having some sort of entertainment for your guests either during the drinks reception or after the food, then I’ve got a blog or you! It’s got over 70 different ideas for ways to keep everyone entertained, I’m sure you’ll find something you like!

As a wedding photographer, it’s great when couples add elements like this to their day. Things which entertain and engage your guests are perfect for a photographer as they’re less likely to notice that I’m there!

Coming back to the venue, to the left of the hall is the 19th century barn, which is where you’ll probably have your wedding breakfast.

They also have a suite for one of you to get ready, plus rooms in the converted stable block. So lots of places for Gorcott Hall Wedding Photography of the preparations!

Victoria was the one getting ready at Gorcott Hall, with her sisters and Mum there. It’s exactly the kind of chilled, relaxed atmosphere which is great for a photographer. Everyone enjoying the time together, the anticipation building for the main event later on.

Gorcott Hall Wedding Ceremony

Depending upon the size of your wedding, you’ve got choices for the ceremony at Gorcott Hall. For an indoor ceremony you have the choice of the Hall for a more intimate wedding or the barn for up to 110.

Or, if you want a church wedding, then not far away is the Church of the Ascension, Mappleborough Green.

That’s where Victoria & Liam chose to go, for a religious blessing.

As they were already legally married, the couple decided to see each other beforehand. Then they walked into the church together, hand in hand.

Then, it was time to head back over the road for some Gorcott Hall Wedding Photography at the reception!

I mentioned the hidden bar on the terrace, and you can just about see it in this photo. They wheel out the bar counter, which is covered in green, then open up a cupboard door in the exterior wall

Hey presto, a bar!

As you can see from these photos, the garden games went down a treat

Wedding Breakfast in the Brick Barn

Then, time to go into the barn for food and speeches.

I mentioned at the start of this blog that wedding No. 2 was things were almost back to normal.

About the only thing that wasn’t allowed was indoor dancing. But they had a band booked, so what to do??

Dance outside of course!!

Then, to finish off my day of Gorcott Hall Wedding Photography, we had sparklers!
