What do I like about Dav­en­port House Wed­ding Photography?

I’ve pho­tographed a few wed­dings at Dav­en­port House so hmm, let me think.

Well, of course there’s the house itself, a Geor­gian man­sion, lov­ing­ly restored by the cur­rent own­ers. The first glimpse as you approach along a sweep­ing dri­ve, through park­land, is spec­tac­u­lar. You leave the road, head­ing up a slope, past a fol­ly. Then the road dou­bles back on itself, going past the local crick­et pitch and there it is, the glo­ri­ous facia of the house. 

There’s the loca­tion, close to Wolver­hamp­ton and Bridg­north, near to Wor­field in the Shrop­shire coun­try­side. (here’s a link to my blog about Bridg­north wed­ding venues if you want to see some more)

At the rear of the house are huge lawns, a large cir­cu­lar pond, beau­ti­ful gar­dens and stun­ning views across rolling hills. As is often the case with this type of prop­er­ty there’s no fence or wall to keep graz­ing ani­mals off the lawn. Instead, hid­den out of sight is a ha-ha (Google it if you don’t know what one is)

The team at Dav­en­port are won­der­ful, always there to attend to their couples.

Gourmet food is very impor­tant here, cre­at­ed by Jim­my Gar­cia Cater­ing, who made his name as the King of Pop-up Dining.

But what do I love most about Dav­en­port House? Well, hav­ing pho­tographed a num­ber of wed­dings there they just seem to get the most won­der­ful couples!

This is Lau­ren & Lennie, pos­si­bly the most smi­ley cou­ple I’ve ever met!

Then, it was cer­e­mo­ny time!
