The recipe for a fab Shropshire summer wedding:-

Take one amazing venue like Delbury Hall, near Ludlow,

Combine with an outdoor ceremony on the lawn, surrounded by roses

Mix in a harpist, a singer, an ice cream cart, and a log cabin photo booth

Sprinkle on some glitter face painting

Finally, add 16 nephews and nieces

Then bake in the sun all day!!

Your hand fits in mine like it’s made just for me
But bear this mind it was meant to be
And I’m joining up the dots with the freckles on your cheeks
And it all makes sense to me

One Direction — Little Things

This year I’m getting to discover some more of the amazing wedding venues that Shropshire has hidden away down it’s country lanes and the latest to add to the list is Delbury Hall

It’s a Georgian Mansion, pretty close to Ludlow, with the Clee Hills and Wenlock Edge for a view. It gives you a real taste of country life, your own piece of rural England for the day!

Alarna & Jermayne have A LOT of nieces and nephews, all excited to see their favourite Aunt & Uncle get wed. So it’s only natural that some of the nieces would be bridesmaids and flower girls, seven in fact

As well getting herself ready the bride had quite a few little ones to assist too. With all the bridal party in a suite overlooking a courtyard, that was gradually filling up with wedding guests, maybe it served as a nice distraction!

The thing with an outdoor wedding ceremony is, of course, that it’s weather dependant. This summer though we seem to have had the opposite problem with the risk of sun stroke after sitting outside!

Rather that though than everyone having to go scurrying inside as the heavens opened and with hardly a cloud in the sky the was little risk of a downpour

It’s quite a long walk across the lawn, around the fountain and then down the aisle, especially when you’ve got little legs. So with the seven bridesmaids/flower girls, then the Maid of Honour to each make their arrival it certainly built the anticipation and emotion, until finally it was the turn of the Bride

There was lots to keep the guests entertained at this wedding!!

There was a harpist playing beautiful music before and after the ceremony. Then later in the day there was an ice cream cart (much needed!) and a very cool log cabin photobooth. Plus festival style glitter face painting and an amazing singer out in the courtyard

This is where Alarna & Jermayne had their first dance, surrounded by family and friends, in the evening sunshine, keeping the al fresco vibe going all day long

Hope they wore suncream!!
